SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH DIRECTOR | ||||
The SRD ensures that FBR's biomedical research is suited to the FBR mission, purpose and laboratory development. FBR has an affiliation agreement with Dartmouth Medical School (DMS) and a qualified candidate would be eligible for a DMS appointment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Research - Directly responsible for advancing and managing research ideas and concepts; hiring and management of research personnel, including principal investigators and post doctoral fellows; seeking sources for grant funds and submission of grants. Publications - Provides oversight and management of peer reviewed research publications for FBR staff including journal publications, books, manuscripts and presentations at scientific meetings Education - Attends conferences and professional meetings regularly; oversees scientific staff development; manages scientific seminar participation both internally and externally for FBR staff; and maintains membership in professional organizations. External Role - Serves as FBR's representative in the scientific community, both locally, nationally and internationally. Solicits and manages collaborations and partnerships for FBR, and interacts regularly with FBR's clients on research matters of mutual interest. Education and Experience M.D./Ph.D degree, MPH desired with a minimum of five years experience in biomedical applied clinical research. DIRECTOR OF LABORATORY OPERATIONS | ||||
The candidate must be either a Ph.D. or M.D., who fulfills all federal requirements for laboratory director as defined by CLIA. Five or more years of experience directing a high complexity laboratory is desirable. Responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operation and administration of the molecular genetics, prenatal screening and rheumatic disease testing laboratories including the management and employment of approximately 25 laboratory personnel. Additional requirements include: the proven ability to plan and implement innovative new services within budget and time parameters; a history of effective leadership accomplishments demonstrated internally and externally; and a willingness to work with FBR's affiliate, Dartmouth Medical School.
